Balance Group

Do you have trouble balancing or are afraid of falling? Our concentrated Balance Group sessions will help you regain equilibrium and confidence.

Balance Group

According to the World Health Organisation, a fall occurs when someone unintentionally rests on the ground, a floor, or another lower level. Falls happen to people of all ages, including young adults, middle-aged adults, and children. For those 65 and older, however, the effects of falls may be more severe. Every year, one-third of those 65 and older fall. 10-20%  of these individuals suffer a fracture or other serious injury as a result of a fall.  Many slips might cause people to lose confidence when walking or doing other things.  Exercises that are specifically planned can completely prevent falls.

We use a variety of Tai Chi, Yoga, Pilates, and Physiotherapy practices at Truecare Health to help you become more balanced and have better reflexes so you don’t fall.

Reasons for balance therapy

Targeted, evidence-based group
treatment can provide long-term
stability and reduce the
risk of falls.

You can regain greater control over your posture and body movements by engaging in balance physiotherapy. It greatly lowers the likelihood of unplanned falls or associated injuries. Without requiring invasive or complicated medical procedures, these sessions are particularly helpful in helping people of all ages regain stability and coordination.

Balance Group physiotherapy sessions are essential for the rehabilitation from stroke or other neurological conditions. They aid in posture correction, neuromuscular coordination improvement, and the strengthening of weaker muscles. This facilitates increased mobility and a higher level of autonomy in day-to-day activities.

Balance naturally deteriorates with age, raising the chance of falling. Balance Group treatment incorporates training based on real-world scenarios. To enhance your physical response and teach your body to move more securely and safely, therapists mimic everyday scenarios.

These exercises can increase joint stability while you’re recuperating after surgery, facilitating a quicker and more seamless healing process.

Increased movement efficiency benefits those with osteoporosis or arthritis by making daily tasks less painful, safer, and easier.

Overview

Many people don’t realise how important balance training is until they have a fall or near-miss.  Such situations frequently make the need for improved stability evident.  At Balance Group Physiotherapy, our staff members are aware of these dangers and are dedicated to assisting you in taking preventative measures. We provide specialised group treatment sessions that are intended to increase mobility confidence, increase flexibility, and develop strength—all of which are critical for preserving a safe, independent lifestyle, particularly as you age or heal from an injury.

Every participant has different needs. Everybody has distinct problems with posture, muscle weakness, balance, and coordination. For this reason, we start each program with a thorough evaluation to identify your unique concerns. On the basis of this, we develop a group therapy plan that meets your individual needs while also enabling you to flourish in the encouraging and supportive group atmosphere.

Enhancing your balance becomes an essential component of therapy following an injury or surgery. You can avoid costly hospital expenses and lengthy journeys by using Balance Group treatment. Our carefully supervised activities and early intervention help you heal more quickly, avoid problems, and lessen long-term dependency so you may resume your life with confidence.

Our resources

Targeted exercises that improve strength, coordination, and postural control—particularly in the lower limbs—are the main emphasis of our Balance Group services. In order to assist participants in restoring confidence and reducing their risk of falling in real-life situations, these courses are carefully designed to incorporate functional training routines that replicate everyday motions. Under the guidance of licensed physiotherapists, our professionally developed program integrates cutting-edge methods like dynamic surface workouts, neuro balance training, and fall-prevention drills.

The group environment itself enhances the effectiveness of these sessions. It creates a community of support, encourages accountability, and motivates people.  Participants frequently make more progress than they would on their own when given regular direction and encouraging words.
